Cisco Switch IOS Software Download

I own a Cisco switch that was given to me for free from a company that didn't need it anymore. I have set it up at home and it's software version is outdated. I have no way of registering with an "address" or any company based things as I am unemployed. Is there anyway I can get the software for the Switch or should I just leave it as is?

HI Lonely,

The policy you need to have active support contract to download the software that you purchased,  So if you downloaded other software that you did not pay for or upgraded software that you did not pay for, it is against the policy. so leave it as @Leo Laohoo mentioned.
