Hi,
You can upgrade using the .bin or .tar method.
For .bin you have to copy the IOS file to each of the flash directories (flash1: to the flashx, change the boot variable, save, verify with "sh boot" command and reboot the switch in a maintenance window.
boot system switch all flash:/IOS.bin
For the .tar upgrade You can use the following command "archive download-sw t ftp:// /.tar" and the command will install the IOS to all the known members of the stack.
archive download-sw /reload <path to tar>
It takes forever to get it loaded and rebooted once you start, so make sure you have about an hour planned out for the upgrade.
Note: Don't use the bin file, use the tar file. You can then upgrade the whole stack with one command:
Do The "archive download-sw tftp://... .tar" command on the master, and be prepared to wait about a half hour or so. You may stop seeing progress in your terminal window. Eventually, you will get a message that the code upgrade is complete and be returned to the en prompt. Do a "wr mem" to make sure configure is commited. Then check run a "show bootvar" to make sure the switch is going to boot from the correct image when it powers up again.

Hi,
The provided link is very old and As of now, it should not impact on the subinterface if you do default the main interface. However, I would advise you contact with Cisco TAC to get the confirmation.

if your new switch is reachable from the switch where you save the backup, please follow the Cisco doc to copy the backup without removing or connecting the usbflash.
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/routers/2500-series-routers/15092-copyimage.html
The other option is you can copy the backup to your laptop using the tftp32 applications or any other application and you can copy back to the switch same way.

Hi,
I would advise you to upgrade to c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE10 instead of taking new train, and I have tested its supporting all NAC/ISE Features, IOS (c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE5) has some limitation for the 802.1x authentication.
Please follow the procedure for upgrade:

Verify the stack with “Show switch”.
Take configuration backup before proceeding upgrade.
Copy the IOS in Flash “copy tftp:c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE10.bin flash: “
After copying the new IOS on the stack, execute the command “boot system c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE10.bin"
Reload the stack to boot with new IOS
After installing the new IOS, verify the new IOS with “show version.
