Cisco Switch to Extreme Wireless AP not getting AT Power

I tested and I need LLDP on my edge switches, 9200 and 9300 switches, to negotiate and get the Extreme Networks 410C AP's to go from 14W (AF) to 30W (AT) Power.  If I enable LLDP on the switch to active, will that affect anything else going on in the network?   I did it on one test switch.  My Core Cisco switch and edge switches are using CDP.   On the test edge switch, 'Sho LLDP' shows the following:

XXX-XXX-TEST#sho lldp neighbors
Capability codes:
(R) Router, (B) Bridge, (T) Telephone, (C) DOCSIS Cable Device
(W) WLAN Access Point, (P) Repeater, (S) Station, (O) Other

My port Te1/0/9 is now showing the correct power:

I want to enable LLDP on the Cisco edge switch, who basically only do AP's, for the AP POE ports.  Before I put in working environment, does anyone see any reasons not to do this?

Thanks!

To be safe instead of enabling globally, you can enable it on a per port basic where extreme devices are connected.

even though it won't effect anything operation wise, it does open your device to discovery, which may not be allowed in some secure environments

-hope this helps-

I do not see any effect on any other device.

Hello @Tamizpa ,

enabling LLDP MED in a multi vendor environment is a required step also for IP phones for VOIP. You should be able to enable it with no issues.

To make an example Cisco ACI default is LLDP enabled and CDP disabled on each leaf node switch port.

Hope to help
