Cisco WS-C3850-48T and private vlans

Hi,

I have a 3850 in production using software 0.3.02.03.SE, the SW image is cat3k_caa-universalk9, I have a requirement to use private vlans but it appears this switch does not support it!

references:

I was hoping a IOS-XE upgrade would add the functionality. Searched through the Cisco website in the download section there is no exact model that matches my switch of "WS-C3850-48T", it gives me the option of WS-C3850-48S, WS-C3850-48E and WS-C3850-48L, not sure what the differences are. Selecting WS-C3850-48S says the latest version I can download is 3.6E which does not support pvlans!
can anyone confirm this switch will never support pvlans?

Hi

I don't have any 3850 right now to test but private vlan should be supported on latest 3.7 version.

Base on this release notes, you can validate the private vlan supported:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3850/software/release/3e/release_notes/rn-3dot7e-3850.html

Private VLAN support is introduced.

To download this latest version, go on Cisco website: https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=284455426&softwareid=282046477&release=3.7.4E&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=MD&reltype=latest

You need to go on All Releases menu then under 3 you will see 3.7 code.

Hope this helps.

Thanks
