HI all,

System image file is "flash:c880data-universalk9_npe-mz.151-1.T1.bin"

But cannot follow :

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/iosswrel/ps6537/ps6586/ps6634/prod_white_paper0900aecd805c4ea8.html

Step 4.1 is problem.

Router doesn't know the command : ip ips

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks

Pavel

Looks like you have an Advanced Security licence. I'm pretty sure that you need Advanced IP Services to run IPS in this platform.  http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps380/qa_c67_458826.html

I believe you also need a separate IPS subscription to update the IPS definitions.

Yes, you're right.

I've switched to advip, and command appeared.

What confuses me, is why advip?

I would expect IPS in security bundle, when it is security feature, more than ip service.....

But, thanks

Pavel

Advanced IP Services costs more - it has more features

Yes Adv Services is going to cost you more. With IOS 15 you have the option to try out the feature for up to 60 days, that gives you time to submit a PO and get the key, when you get the key you do not need to reboot the router! that's one nice feature of the new IOS platform.-
