Compatibility between IOS versions and switches

Hello all, I was curious as to if there would be any compatibility issues if we had two of the same model of switches, not stacked, that use different IOS versions. Namely two 3850x switches on IOS versions 3.6.6e and 3.7.5e. The switches would be connected together by 10gig fiber. Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Hi,

Connecting the switches together via 10Gig with 2 different IOS versions should not be an issue.

Thank you Reza.

BTW, note that Reza wrote ". . . 2 different IOS versions should not be an issue." Very, very rarely it is an issue. Again, though, it's generally very, very rare on Cisco devices. More often when it is an issue, there's a bug in one of the IOS versions. In such cases, even running the same IOS version might not preclude an issue.
