Configuring local SPAN on 6513

Hi,

I'm confused with the limitation on SPAN configuration described on bellow URL.

As per above it is clearly mentioned that total number of session per switch is 66, local SPAN sessions;two (ingress/Egress of Both), one ingress and 1 or 2 Engress. So where does the number 66 belongs to...?

Currently I have already configured two SPAN session on the 6513 switch and when we try to configure 3rd we get the bellow error:

DIS-CORE-SW01(config)#$sion 3 source interface tenGigabitEthernet 2/2

% Local Session limit has been exceeded

DIS-CORE-SW01(config)#$sion 3 source interface tenGigabitEthernet 2/2 rx

% Local Ingress Session limit has been exceeded

DIS-CORE-SW01(config)#$sion 3 source interface tenGigabitEthernet 2/2 tx

% Local Egress Session limit has been exceeded

So my question is what is that total 66 number of sessions, why cant i have any other sessions, is there any other workable solution to overcome this..?

Please examine the Local SPAN and RSPAN Session Limits table again.  This tabe defines the combinations (left to right) that can be used simultaneously.  In this case here are your options (more easily readable):

For all combinations, the total is 66

• 2 (ingress or egress or both) Local SPAN Sessions + 0 RSPAN Source Sessions + 64 RSPAN Destination Sessions = 66 total sessions
• 1 Ingress Local SPAN Session + 1 (Ingress or Egress or both) RSPAN Source Session + 64 RSPAN Destination Sessions = 66 total sessions
• 1 or 2 egress Local SPAN Sessions + 0 RSPAN Source Sessions + 64 RSPAN Destination Sessions = 65 or 66 total sessions
