Confirming this output means I have no media on interface?

Folks, if I see on 'show int status'the info pasted below, it means I have no media (fiber or copper port) to plug my cable into this g0/1 switchport, right?

Hello Marlon,

it could mean the switch cannot recognize the GBIC module or that no Gbic module is inserted.

... or your GBIC could either be faulty or not supported possibly because it's not Cisco (3rd party).
