Confused between "etherchannel guard misconfig" and "EtherChannel inconsistency" detection

Hi, Can anybody tell me what's the result of an etherchannel misconfig ?

Is it the inconsistent state ?

Exactly what issues are you seeing?

The ordered switches haven't arrived yet. While I'm busy designing the LAN, I wanna know what would happen if i accidentally messed up the etherchannel. It's just a prevention thought.
Cisco references tell different stories. Which one is true ?

IF the etherchannels are configured incorrectly, the port(s) will be in error-disabled.
