Connect Catalyst 3560G to Home Nighthawk router

I have a Nighthawk R7960P wireless router that connects to a Spectrum Modem. I want to setup different vlans so i can have my security system separate from the main vlan everything else is connected to (the wireless nighthawk router). I bought a 24 port 3560G and connected it to the nighthawk. I created a trunk port on the cisco switch with native vlan 1. I also create another vlan on the switch, vlan 100. I created an SVI for VLAN 1 and 100. The 2 subnets can communicate with eachother and talk to devices on each vlan. The problem i am having is i cannot access the internet on VLAN 100. I created a route on the nighthawk for vlan 100 and it seems to work since there is communication. I set my gateway of last resort as the nighthawk router but no internet. I did a trace route on a device on vlan 100 and it dies at the night hawk. I tried port forwarding/triggering but nothing. I think it might be a nat issue? but i dont see any settings that will allow me to do that on the nighthawk. Any ideas on how i can get internet access on vlan 100?

Hi,

Since you now have 2 vlans (1 and 100), the port that connects the 3560G to the Nighthawk router needs to be configured as trunk, which means the Nighthawk router port that connects to the 3560G also needs to be configured as trunk. The other issue is that the provider mostly likely is NATing only one subnet for you to use at home (wired and wireless) and not 2. So, whatever device is doing the NAT for the first subnet needs to be configured to do the same for the second subnet, which is vlan 100.
