Hi Gents,
I connected Nexus 3548 and Nexus 6001 with QSFP-4SFP10G-CU5M in between them with the aim of having 40GBASE-CR4 without success.
N3548: n3500-uk9.6.0.2.A1.1f.bin
N6001: n6000-uk9.6.0.2.N2.4.bin
N3548 release notes does not mention QSFP-4SFP10G-CU5M at all, but the datasheet says this:
Table 3. Cisco Nexus 3500 Platform 40 Gigabit Transceiver Support Matrix
Part Number | Description |
SFP-10G-SR | 10GBASE-SR SFP+ module (multimode fiber [MMF]) |
SFP-10G-LR | 10GBASE-LR SFP+ module (single-mode fiber [SMF]) |
QSFP-4SFP10G-CU1M | QSFP to 4 x SFP 10-Gbps passive copper splitter cable, 1m (Twinax cable) |
QSFP-4SFP10G-CU3M | QSFP to 4 x SFP 10-Gbps passive copper splitter cable, 3m (Twinax cable) |
QSFP-4SFP10G-CU5M | QSFP to 4 x SFP 10-Gbps passive copper splitter cable, 5m (Twinax cable) |
If someone is aware of the truth, please, let me know.
Kind regards,
Szilard

Hi,
If you are trying to go between 2 switches using a 40Gig Twinax cable try this:
QSFP-H40G-CU5M
I have used it to connect Nexus 6ks together with no issues.

Hi Reza,
I believe the issue is not connecting two 6Ks its connecting a 3548 with a 6K. The 3548 has only 48x10G ports and the N6K has 48x10G and 4 QSFP port. According to Cisco's website it states that the 3548 can be logical configured for 40G (e.g (E1/-4 or E1/5-8, etc) using QSFP-4SFP10G-CU5M.

Hi,
Ok, thanks for the clarification. I understand now. So the 3548 has only 10Gig ports and no 40G interfaces. That is why Szilard is trying to use QSFP-4SFP10G-CU5M cable.
So it appears that the 3548 switch does not have any uplink ports. Does that mean any other port can and should be used for uplinks?

Hi Team,
Can anyone suggest if N3548 support 10G classic transceivers (SFP-10G-LR-S=)?

Neeraj
