Hi Friends
We have 2 nexus 5K installed in our data centre recently and we are connecting new three servers to nexus switches.
Each server has 2 10GB ports . 1 port of serverA is connected 5K1 and other port is connected 5K2 ( sameway other 2 server connected to Neuxs 5K1 and 5K2 Switches).
So do we need to create each VPC with Portchannel (like VPC 1,2 and 3 ) for each server connection?
Can you please help me on this ?
Thanks
Sri

You're welcome Sri
From first look configs seems are fine.
But still ou need to run some checks when you'll configure your server.

Hi Sri
This depends from what you want to achive.
If you want to bond 2 server nics and get 20Gig link towards the server - then yes - n5ks has to run vpc. and portchannel towards the server should be configured as vpc.
But if you will run two links as active/standby on the server, or two separated links with different IPs or different vlans - there is no need in vpc.

HI Alex,
Thanks for your help...
Yes I want to bond 2 server NICs and get 20Gig.
But When i configured portchannel and VPC on both Nexus 5ks. I see an error message only on 5k2 as "
Consistency Check Not Performed "
interface port-channel100
switchport mode trunk
vpc 100

But we are NOT getting any error on Nexus5k1..please suggest

Is the port on n5k2 connected to server and in up state?
Add here from both n5k
sh run vpc
sh run int po100
sh run int eth x/y - where x/y member-interface of port-channel 100
sh port-c summ

Check whether your vpc is up:
sh vpc
an also both member ports are in I state - that means that they don't receive lacp from the server side.

Sri,
Are you allowing Vlan 100 on the peer-link? Based on your config this would be po 51
