We recently acquired some WS-C2960S-48FPS-L switches. Almost every one of the switches shows this message on the console when connected via console cable. Is this benign?

as far as I recall. anything 'ifs' refers to the integrated file system, which is basically the name for all the file systems available on your switch (you can display those with the exec commands 'showfilesystems/show file system/show file descriptors).
