I accidentally loaded the NPE version of IOS on two 9600's and need to switch to the regular version.
I tried with this command:
install add file flash:cat9k_iosxe.17.09.05.SPA.bin activate commit
and got this response:
install_add_activate_commit: START Wed Apr 10 14:06:32 UTC 2024
install_add_activate_commit: Adding PACKAGE
install_add_activate_commit: Checking whether new add is allowed ....
FAILED: install_add_activate_commit : Super package already added. Add operation not allowed. 'install remove inactive' can be used to discard added packages
So I'm removing the inactive packages but I expect it's still going to say the same thing. Is there a procedure to overwrite the IOS with the same version but different encryption abilities?
These switches are not in production so I can do whatever I need.
