Convert Single mode input to multimode output on a switch

I have to convert single mode input into multimode using 3750-E switch to support upto 300 mbps of throughput.

The other ends are 7600 and a tipping point ips. From 7600 i have single mode fiber coming and i have to connect switch to tp ips on multimode. Does 3750-E convert SM to MM on a single switch? I guess for that a switch will have to support both SM and MM transceiver.

The 3750-E module supports different optics, so you could have multi-mode on one port and single mode on another.

It shouldn't be a problem to use different optics in a single switch. I've used SM and MM in the same switch many times.

Sure, just choose your SFPs compatible with the 3750-E per the Cisco Gigabit Ethernet Transceiver compatibility matrix.

By the way, TippingPoint IPS appliances also support copper and singlemode fiber SFPs in their SFP interface ports. The singlemode transceiver part number from HP is JC875A

Are these interchangeable. Can I use either GLC-LH-SM or SFP-GE-S for Single Mode on 3750-E.

Either can go into the 3750-E but they they are for different upstream devices. Note their different product descriptions below:

SFP-GE-S=

1000BASE-SX SFP transceiver module for MMF, 850-nm wavelength, extended operating temperature range and DOM support, dual LC/PC connector

GLC-LH-SM=

1000BASE-LX/LH SFP transceiver module for MMF and SMF, 1300-nm wavelength, dual LC/PC connector
