Dear All,
I have a Lan composed in this way:
Core ---> Distribution/Access Layer.
I have setup 21 Vlan one for each department.
In order to provide default gateway reduntancy for clients, I have configured HSRP standby ip for each Vlan among the two Cores switch.
For the core I have used the 3750E (it is a small network) now the problem is that the platform do not support more than 32 HSRP groups!
Do you have any suggestion to avoid this kind of problem ?
Thanks & Regards,
Igor.

Hi,
You have 21 VLANs total and one HSRP group/VLAN so 21 HSRP groups and the limit is 32 so you are way below the limit, so I don't understand the problem?

So do I...
I have 21 Vlan but if i Try to configure a new one with HSRP i got the message above...
The IOS is the 12.2(20)SE4, could be a release problem?
Best regards,
Igor.

Now I know why I got the message about the maximum of 32 HSRP group reached...The number 32 must be divided for the two core, so a maximum of 16 HSRP group for each Core.
I have choose to use HSRP in order to provide default Gateway redundancy for the clients in each vlan.
There is another way to do it?
Best regards,
Igor.

Hello Igor,
from what I know, VRRP supports up to 255 groups, maybe you can solve your problem with VRRP?
Kind Regards
Tom
