We have a pair of 6509 switches in our data centre and I have recently noticed a routing issue with one of the switches. We set up a new VLAN in our data centre dedicated for data replication between our primary and secondary data centres. What we noticed was that we could ping from our Primary DC to some hosts in the new VLAN at Secondary DC but couldn't ping some other hosts in the same new Vlan. I have worked on and it isolated the issue down to a DFC module in a line card in one of our 6509 switches. What I have found is the adjacency value for next-hop addresses are incorrect in that module, they do not point to the right mac address, hence any traffic entering that line card is getting dropped. Has anyone experienced this issue before and how can it be resolved?
