Hi The switch is using layer 2, basically i have 2 sites over a lan extension, i am setting dhcp on the other site, but I dont want the dhcp boradcast coming to my other site

I dont think im wrong when im saying that the only way of filtering broadcast's is putting a router/vlan configuration in the middle.

Then u make 2 broadcast domains.

Broadcast Control

Just as switches isolate collision domains for attached hosts and only forward appropriate traffic out a particular port, VLANs provide complete isolation between VLANs. A VLAN is a bridging domain; all broadcast and multicast traffic is contained within the VLAN.

Thanks, I knew that already, I just wanted to know if it can be stopped via layer 2?

thanks

can anyone help on this ?
