Issue in Packet tracer: DHCP failed. APIPA is being used
I am following a practical, so only these 3 devices are used in it.
A server, a cloud (internet) and a PC. They're connected with copper straight-through cable.
When I tried to configure the IP in the server, I am met with "DHCP failed. APIPA is being used."
How do I resolve this please.

you should have the route on the internet router and ip helper
IP route xxxx xxxx (destination ip)
IP helper (DHCP server ip )

Hi there,
Have you configured a DHCP server pool on the router for the subnet which the server is connected to?
cheers,
Seb.

friend here you need static no need for DHCP.
you config DHCP only if the internet cloud <which is router > have DHCP pool for DHCP client.

Hello Advisor,
I have used the same format in other network connections before and they worked but for today, all my previous network connection setups are saying DHCP failed.
Again, what do you mean by the cloud (internet) being the router plz?
