How can I enable diagnostic monitoring on a switch, or is this option based on SFP type.
switch#sh int g0/1 transceiver
Diagnostic Monitoring is not implemented.
Thanks
Deena

Hello,
your SFP's need to have the DOM, to receive something like this.
SWA-XXX-01#show int te 1/0/1 transceiver
ITU Channel not available (Wavelength not available),
Transceiver is internally calibrated.
If device is externally calibrated, only calibrated values are printed.
++ : high alarm, + : high warning, - : low warning, -- : low alarm.
NA or N/A: not applicable, Tx: transmit, Rx: receive.
mA: milliamperes, dBm: decibels (milliwatts).
Optical Optical
Temperature Voltage Tx Power Rx Power
Port (Celsius) (Volts) (dBm) (dBm)
--------- ----------- ------- -------- --------
Te1/0/1 40.2 3.29 -2.3 -4.2
have a look on the SFP data sheet:
exemple:
GLC-SX-MM is without DOM
GLC-SX-MMD with DOM
Good topic about: https://community.cisco.com/t5/optical-networking/turn-on-digital-optical-monitoring-dom/td-p/1241363
thanks in advance.

Hi Jaderson,
Thank u for your response. The link, http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/prod/collateral/modules/ps5455/ps6577/product_data_sheet0900aecd8033f885.html, does not work. I get a Forbidden File message.
