Difference between a 9200L and a 9200?

As the title states. I looked at the documentation and other then one being more expensive them the other is there a functional difference?

The company we order from has no C9200-24P-E but they do have C9200L-24P-E

Most important is the POE which both have. But both we'll be using VLANs and doing DHCP.

Well to answer my own question.

The 9200L is a fixed switch. Fans and uplinks are NOT removeable

The 9200 the fans/uplinks can be removed/replaced and upgraded

BTW, what you note is true, but that information, and other specific differences, are in the document @MHM Cisco World referenced.

See the tail end of this section: https://ciscolicense.com/blog/networking/differences-in-the-catalyst-9000-series-switch-models/#Cisco-Catalyst-9200-switch-models-differences

Most of the differences are in how well the hardware supports many of the same features.

That said, I believe the "L" variants are missing some features but would expect such features wouldn't be commonly used.

  • 9200L can only be stacked with another 9200L.
  • 9200L CANNOT STACKED with 9200.
  • 9200L CANNOT STACKED with 9200X.
