difference between WS-C3560-8PC-S & Cisco Catalyst 2960-8TC-S

Hi,

       I have to recomend one basic 8 port L2 switch to my client . out of these two which should i recomend ?

One basic L2 = the 2960 but I would have gone with the 2960G if you do not need the 8th port.

Gig is always better than 100 for many reasons.

The 3560 is a "L3" switch.

Look at e-bay for used 2940 switch if you don't want gig or PoE ports. 

The 2940 is not a good switch.

We have had som truly terrible performance hits because of 2940´s with small packets.

so I would not recomend them to anyone.

Awwwww ... alright then.

You could try Cisco Refurbished.  20% the price of a brand new one PLUS warranties of a brand new one.
