Downgrade license of Catalyst 3650 switch from IP Service to IP Base

Hello All,

I have an exiting Catalyst 3650 switch (WS-C3650-24PS-E) with IP Service license in the network. Now I need to stack another 3650 switch (WS-C3650-48TS-S). However the license is IP Base. According to Cisco we can't stack 2 switches with 2 different licenses.

Kindly advise if we can downgrade license from IP Service to IP Base. If yes then please advise the procedure.

Correct. You can't stack to switches with 2 different licenses. 

Try this link to downgrade the license level for the other one to ip base.

I have checked this document before but just want to confirm if anyone has done this in the live network.
I will apply the below command. As this switch has higher license then it should be permanent after reload.

license right-to-use activate ipbase slot 1 acceptEULA
