Dual connection between Single Router and Single Switch

Hi, in recent incident where one of Blade on Core switch went down, that caused some important routers LAN interface is go down as well.

Now i am planning to connect each router Twice with Core switch but on different Blades of Core switch.

what is best way to achieve this from configuration stand point? any sort of HSRP/Etherchannel options?

it would be like this

CORE Switch Blade 1----- Port1 (Cisco Router)  Port 2------ CORE Switch Blade 2

in this case even if any blade becomes faulty i will still have my router LAN Interface available and ready to take traffic.

but i want things to happen with out human intervention, please suggest some best practices.

Hi,

If you have only one Core probably just distribute connections from router to different blades has you said. If you have 2 use HSRP or VRRP instead, I would use Etherchannel in first scenario
