Dual Sup 720 10G ports on Standby Sup

In a dual Sup720 with 10G ports configuration ---- can all 10G ports forward traffic? Specifically -- can the 10G ports forward traffic on the standby sup720?

Hi,

Yes, you can actually Etherchannel ports form both Sups together and if the active one fails the stand-by sup will continue forwarding traffic.

Just to add to what reza said, this particular setup of ether channel is known as MultiChassis Ether Channel (MEC) on CAT 6500 platforms.

All ports of standby chassis forward data traffic along with active chassis.
