Hi,
We have chassis WS-C6509-E and having SUP WS-SUP720-3B, We are getting some error messages for SUP module's after completing switch over testing,
Jan 20 12:24:52.994: %MRIB_PROXY-SP-2-MRIB_LC_FAILED_IPC_OPEN: LC in slot 6 failed to open IPC port to RP, error = no such port
Jan 20 12:26:31.679: %OBFL_ERRMSG-SPSTBY-5-FILECREATEFAIL: OBFL Message App failed to open/create file obfl0:errmsg_cont . Errno = 14
Jan 20 12:28:40.714: %MRIB_PROXY-SPSTBY-2-MRIB_LC_FAILED_IPC_OPEN: LC in slot 5 failed to open IPC port to RP, error = no such port
Also attaching here show logging and show module output commands.
suggest on this if error message is Hardware or Software fault??

Hi Ashutosh,
Looks like the line card has failed in allocating an interprocessor communication buffer, it could be somany process handling at same time.
Check if you have more PBR, NAT something like that which are making over burden on the line cards.

Hi,
As per show logging command output, this error message have not come again till date. Now confirm if we can ignore this error message came on that particular date or this may be the some hardware fault of SUP at slot 5 & 6 ??

What I would say is, the error log you have found in loggin is because of the memory was fully utilized and can not allocate free space to other process.
So this should not repeat untill you have not much and much load on the switch like more PBR and switching like that. So this is a hardware error not software error.
And for now you can ignore it but keep an eye on the logs and see if you may receive it in next time.
