esxi port status blocked by admin on nexus1000V

Hi every body,

We are under a weird situation, we have ESXi under nexus1000V, and we have reboot one to upgrade the memory.

After the reboot, the port / vmnic linked to nexus are under status "blocked by admin".

We get this situation two weeks ago, the workaround was to create and use a new port profile ethernet without the "no static binding" which was a legacay configuration inherited from a previous upgrade.

So after we switch the vmnic on this new port profile ethernet, the port was not blocked, so we were good with this solution.

But yesterday, we reboot another esxi and even using this new port profile , we still get this status "blocked by admin".

Some display ==> port channel of the esxi.

Po3 1 eth trunk down No operational members auto(I) none
Po5 1 eth trunk down No operational members auto(D) none

Details of the Po3 for example:

port-channel3 is down (No operational members)
Hardware: Port-Channel, address: 0000.0000.0000 (bia 0000.0000.0000)
MTU 9000 bytes, BW 100000 Kbit, DLY 10 usec
reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
Encapsulation ARPA
Port mode is trunk
auto-duplex, 1000 Mb/s
Input flow-control is off, output flow-control is off
Switchport monitor is off

VSM: version 5.2(1)SV3(1.2)

VEM: 5.2.1.3.1.2.0-3.2.1

vCenter : 6.0

Have an idea ?

Best regards

Hi -

Can you post the following information:

  1. N1KV configuration
  2. Server make/model of the failing host
  3. Port configuration from the upstream switch (just the ports connected to the server)
