Etherchannel configuration Dilema

hello Guys,

I am looking at an etherchannel configuration on a core switch and I have a this config on the etherchannel, is it right to have a trunk configuration on the etherchannel bundle. I thought it was supposed to be on the individual ports.

Also bear the individual ports also have trunk configurations.

Am not sure which is correct, because I have seen a working etherchannel config without the trunk config on the port-channel and it works.

Hello,

I have found it better for L2 etherchannels to assign the physical ports to the channel-group and then

configure the port-channel with the trunk settings.

L2 etherchannel

================

1)Config default physical interfaces involved

2)assign channel-group and channel-group number on the physical interfacs and let  the port-channel be created automaticlly

3)create trunking encapsulation/mode directly in port-channel interface

4)reset physical interfaces "shut" "no shut"

This way you will find that the physical interfaces will inherit the config from the port-channel
