EtherChannel L2 and L3 Ping Issue

Hi,

In a test lab, I created an EtherChannel as in the below diagram.

Issue: If I create EtherChannel at L2, my PC11 could ping PC12, but when I create the same at L3 (after no switchport, and IP assignment to Port-Channels from the same subnet as PCs keeps) PC11 can't ping to PC12 and vice versa, but switches can ping each other port-channel IPs.

Appreciate any support to understand why is it like this?

Thanks

when port-channel layer 2, it is 1 broadcast domain, when you make Layer 3 port-channel now it wll be different broadcast domain.

to reach each other VPC device, you need routing to be in place when you make Layer 3 network example :

switch 3 IP address 10.10.10.3

switch 6 IP address 10.10.10.6

on switch3

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.10.10.6

on switch6

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.10.10.3

make sure VPC12 have gateway - 10.10.10.6

make sure VPC11 have gateway - 10.10.10.3
