Ethereal Trace (Router)

How can we take a trace using Ethereal software on Cisco 7613 router/SUP?What are the commands we need to give to router (Cisco 7613) to obtain this trace?How we can study about protocols shown in the trace?Thanks

If you're 7613 is going into a Catalyst switch, you can setup what is called a SPAN session to dump the information. You could, however it not recommended, perform a dump on the router straight to a SYSLOG server using "debug ip packet dump"... however keep in mind this is not recommended as it can use your CPU cycles very quickly and lock your router up, so use with caution.
