Experiencing high VLAN discard frames

Hi all

I did a quick search and noticed that there is no previous experience of VLAN discard frames.

So I would hope to find some clue here.

Currently, my network is experiencing high VLAN discard frames.

The statistics can be seen by inputting "show controllers"

Did a check from Cisco document, the reason for dropping the frames is due to the 1-bit field in the CFI is set to '1'.

Further research gets me that '0' means it is normal ethernet switching. Where '1' means token ring switching.

My network is not running any token ring technology, so it baffles me how the frames ended up with '1' and were discarded.

Attached is the output with 3 interfaces extracted for consideration.

Can anyone help to explain how does the discard frame works, and by any chance will affect the end point client?

Thanks and regards
