I have a Nexus 5020 switch with 12 SFP Fiber modules in ports 1-12 (it having 52 ports in total with 2 expansion boards).
I have 2 computers with Chelsio S320 Dual 10Gb Fiber NIC cards in running Windows Server 2016.
I have connected the 2 Chelsio cards together by direct link and they talk to each other no problem.
If I then connect them to the switch they dont talk, not even ping each other, clearly I need to do some switch configuration!
Having read the manuals for the switch I have no clue what settings I need on the ports so that they will just talk to each other!
Everything on the switch is factory defaults so far, all I have done is configured the management port ip and telnet, user password so I can telnet in, and then enabled feature fcoe and lldp.
What I am after is very simple, no san etc, just to use the 5020 as a switch for LAN, the idea to have the 2 servers and then some clients on all talking via the 10G fiber nice and fast! I have no need for storage etc, have just the 1 switch so I don't need it doing anything like talking to other switches etc!
Please can any one point me in the right direction with regards to how to get this switch configured for such a task
Thanks, Andy :-)

Well thats very easy if I dont need to configure anything!
I did as you said as the ports were up but the mac addresses not seen!
Reset the Chelsio cards to defaults and the mac addresses appeared and now the servers can see each other!
So thats great, thanks for the info, cant believe its that simple!!!
Is there anything else I should do with regards to performance etc that you would recommend?
Now I just have to find a way of getting this switch to be a bit quieter that a jet plane!!
I think lots of people are complaining about the fan noise!
:-)
