Carl,

Are you trying to set a LAN based fail-over or connecting the ASA's back-back using the LAN cable? Please let us know more on the design that you are trying to setup.

thanks for replying amit, basically I have 2 asa 5505, in transparent mode, I want 1 of them to be redudant, I dont think they support failover so I was going to create a loop somehow, so it blocks on of the lan ports, or is there another way ?

please help

Carl,

I think you can configure LAN-based fail-over on the firewall. Stateful failover is not supported on ASA5505.

I had a read and I Dont think this will help, can anyone help me out on this ?

cheers

Carl,

Sorry for the information provided above, I have just realized the ASA5505 doesnot support fail-over on it. Let me know the lan connectivity design you are trying to set.
