I need to implement a small network comprising 6 GigE switches / 20 hosts in which real time data shall be distributed; low bandwidth but low latency/jitter and high availability needed. I would like to adopt a meshed ring network to provide resilience but in the event of physical link or equipment failure would require the topology change time to be in the order of 10-100 ms.
Are any spanning tree protocols capable of providing (guaranteeing) such a short time? Or what alternatives are there to achieve this?
Thanks
