Hi,
My query is regarding "exclude interfaces" in Dual-Active Detection.
Do I need to add the fast hello interfaces as part of dual-active exclude interfaces?
When a dual active scenario is detected, and primary chassis is in recovery mode - I get below output; is that normal?
Fast-hello dual-active detection enabled: Yes Fast-hello dual-active interfaces: Port Local State Peer Port Remote State --------------------------------------------------- Gi2/1/2 Link dn - -
show switch virtual dual-active summary Pagp dual-active detection enabled: Yes Bfd dual-active detection enabled: Yes Fast-hello dual-active detection enabled: Yes No interfaces excluded from shutdown in recovery mode In dual-active recovery mode: No

Hello Krishna,
In dual active recovery mode, all the interfaces except the VSL links are shut down. There is no need to exclude the dual -active interface in excluded list.
Just to clarify looking at your outputs, i do need see the switch in recovery mode. So is the output taken after recovery is done ?
In dual-active recovery mode: No

Hi Madhukrishnan,
Thanks for clarifying.
At the moment, the VSS is operating in normal mode & the output is below. Please advise if you see anything wrong..

Fast-hello dual-active detection enabled: Yes
Fast-hello dual-active interfaces:

Gi1/1/2 Link up Gi2/1/2 Link up
show switch virtual dual-active summary
Pagp dual-active detection enabled: Yes
Bfd dual-active detection enabled: Yes
Fast-hello dual-active detection enabled: Yes
No interfaces excluded from shutdown in recovery mode
In dual-active recovery mode: No
