Hello Reza,

thanks for your reply. yes, the FCOE is enabled and I did the same config on the shared link. I´m not sure, should the Barcode switch connected to the Ports on N5k when I run the config?

Thanks!

Hi,

No, it shouldn't matter if the Brocade switch is connected to Nexus or not. You should be able to configure it offline. You may want to open a ticket with Cisco because this module supports FCOE.

Hello Reza,

many thanks for your answer,

as per the document, you posted with me, I should configure a QoS before starting with the FC config on the module. I havn´t configured the QoS, could it be the reason behind that? I´m not sure?

Thanks!

Hi,

No, I really don't think configuring FCOE has anything to do with QoS, but you may want to try it anyway. It maybe a bug in the OS you are running and a ticket with Cisco may help in resolving it. Also, are you sure the module you have installed supports FCOE?

What is the output of "sh module?

HTH

Hello Reza,

the module is N5600-M12

NAME: "Module 1", DESCR: "Nexus 12xQSFP Fixed Ethernet Module"

PID: N5600-48Q-12Q-FIX , VID: V01 ,

NAME: "Module 2", DESCR: "Nexus 12xQSFP Fixed Ethernet Module"

PID: N5600-48Q-12Q-FIX , VID: V01

NAME: "Module 3", DESCR: "Nexus 12xQSFP Ethernet Module"

PID: N5600-M12Q        , VID: V01

so you think, update the OS could help?

Thanks!

So, module 3 is FCOE. What happens when you try:

config t

interface fc 3/1

and press enter

HTH

I receive invalid input

I think, I should mention also, that the cable Breakout on the module is activiated "interface breakout slot 3 port 1-3 map 10g-4x" could be that we should activate the Ports for FCOE and then starting with acitvation the ports for breackout?

Yes, try a port without the breakout cable. Also, when you say "I receive invalid input", can you provide more details by showing it on the command line?

HTH

like the below

switch(config)# interface fc 1/1
^
Invalid range at '^' marker.

Can you open a ticket with Cisco and have them look at it? I thought module 3 was FC
