Cisco currently manufactures two models of Fixed L3 switch platforms which are the 3560 and the 3750. Each model also has the ability to purchase the "-E" model.
Reading documentation about the standard models vs. the "-E" models leads me to beleive that installations which have more intensive power requirements over the POE ports may require the "-E" models. Is this accurate?

The Q&As for each E switch covers the major differences between the E and non-E chassis, have a look at the Switch Architecture section -

3750-E

Note that the 3750 supports Stackwise and the 3750-E supports Stackwise Plus.
