Fun fact - cable testing

If you ever perform a cable test on a port that is down and you see something like the below, it means that there is a device on the other end, in my case another Meraki switch, that has no power to it:

This is what the same cable test looks like with the remote switch powered back up:

Just in case anyone wonders why they suddenly have a failed cable with open and abnormal pairs!

That is odd. We normally see the cable length to the device powered down. Can't say I've tried it with a down steam Meraki switch. Good to know!

It appears in the example above that the cable length grew .75m when the device was powered on. 😆
