We're installing IP phones for the first time.
We're under some construction so I have a couple of people working our of offices with only one data cable but multiple devices.
Port 30 on 2960x goes to an unmanaged netgear 5 port switch;
The switch has 1-Pc and two network printers attached and I need to add an IP phone.
The Pc and printers are on VLAN 1 and phones are VLAN 50.
How should I configure the port and wire/cable a scenario where I'm adding an IP phone.
In preparation for the phone I started to setup port 30 as a voice VLAN but as soon as I do that she loses her printing capability.
Will I need to install the phone first; Port 30 to the phone first, then to the unmanaged switched?
Then setup the port as a voice VLAN port?
I'm new to setting up IP phones with VLAN's and cisco switches.
I managed to setup the ports with IP phones plugged directly into each port and a Pc attached to the phones but the switch in between is giving me headaches.
Any help and guidance would be appreciated.
