Best method to see hardware compatibility is

1. go to www.cisco.com --> products

2. choose the product. here switches-6500

3. go down the page and you will see relevant interfaces and modules.

3. then choose the network model you are looking for

4. and go to the Data sheet. that will give you the hardware compatibility information.
