Hi -
I feel stupid writing this and I am not sure I am even in the correct place.
I have really messed up my 871 (non wireless) and I dont know what to do with it to fix it.
I was trying to delete SDM Express from my router so I could put CCP Express on it. So I erased the following files:
home.sthml
sdm-8xxx.config
home.tar
es.tar
common.tar
I then tried to reload IOS. When I reloaded it, it would no longer assign an ip address to my pc...and all I could see when connecting to the console was gibberish.
So then since I couldnt log in or anything, I tried to reset the router by pressing the reset button within 5 seconds of turning the unit on. IT didnt do anything - still gibberish via the console....still wont assign ip address to my laptop.
I also tried setting the ip address myself - 10.10.10.2 but that didnt fix anything - still cant telnet to it.
I am running advanced ip services 12.4 11T2.
Please help!!! Can it be fixed?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi -
I forgot to add that the WAN TXD light is now a solid green after booting up. The only other light that is on is the ok light.
Thanks.

Hi,
For the console gibberish you should verify your terminal emulator settings:
Bits per sec : 9600 Data bits : 8 Parity : none Stop bits : 1 Flow control : none
Then when you have solved this problem you can do some show commands but it will depend on what message you get in console.
