High Availability - Server Backbone to Core

Not sure if I am using the correct terminology, but I am investigating setting up a HA server backbone. Here is our current setup:

  • 2 x Cisco 3560 Switches.
  • Connected to a ganged 3750 at the core.

Each of the Server Room Switches is essentially independant. They each have their own LAN port to the core, etc. What I would like to do however is:

  1. Since all our Servers have dual NIC ports - Connect NIC 1 to Server Switch 1, and NIC 2 to Server Switch 2 - load balancing (would that work).
  2. Make Server Room Switch 1 redundant to Switch 2, and vice versa.
  3. Redundant connections to the Core
  4. No reduction in throughput/speed.

This may be a little complicated for me to setup, but I would appreciate if anyone can share their knowledge/configs.

If the access switches are 3560s than you can't do this.  If the access switches are 3750s (STACKED), than you can.
