Not sure if I am using the correct terminology, but I am investigating setting up a HA server backbone. Here is our current setup:
- 2 x Cisco 3560 Switches.
- Connected to a ganged 3750 at the core.
Each of the Server Room Switches is essentially independant. They each have their own LAN port to the core, etc. What I would like to do however is:
- Since all our Servers have dual NIC ports - Connect NIC 1 to Server Switch 1, and NIC 2 to Server Switch 2 - load balancing (would that work).
- Make Server Room Switch 1 redundant to Switch 2, and vice versa.
- Redundant connections to the Core
- No reduction in throughput/speed.
This may be a little complicated for me to setup, but I would appreciate if anyone can share their knowledge/configs.
