Hi,
We have really high CPU load on one of our Catalyst 4500.
It is usually between 40 % - 60 % but goes up to 90 - 95 % AT TIMES.
We run multi-area OSPF with 5 4500 in the core. The one that is concerning us is ASBR and a Backbone router.
We use several thousands of global IP addresses in our network that all exit our network through the problem
switch.
Does anyone have any ideas about the following outputs?
Can it be OSPF updates or something that
I snagged these outputs whilst the switch was working extremely hard...

Need more info - I suggest opening a TAC case.
Use a syslog server to capture the output.
Use the recurring command feature in TeraTerm Emulator
I.E.
#term len 0
#term mon
Log the output to a text file
& every minute run the recurring command:
show proc cpu sorted \n (CatOS)
- or -
show proc cpu sorted | exclude 0.00% \n
N.B. the '\n' is a TeraTerm emulator program variable only!
