Hello,
We have a three 3850 switch stack connected non-redundant half bandwidth.
Switch # Port 1 Port 2
------- ------ ------
1 2 None
2 3 1
3 None 2
We need to connect Switch# 3 to Switch#1 to make the stack redundant and full bandwidth.
Will this be possible do online without any downtime?
Cheers

you should be able to connect switch 3 to switch 1 without affecting the rest of the stack. As far as I am aware you don't need to reload the switches

I cannot say for the 3850, but I recall the 3750 advised to only connect/disconnect stack cables if one side of the connection (one of the stack members) was powered off.
Also, at least for the 3750, you didn't need to reload the whole stack.

Hi,
You need to reboot the switch after stacking configuration to take the effect.
So this is not possible to do online without downtime.
Thanks

In this particular case, the 3 switches are ALREADY in a stack, so adding the cable will not have any impact, other than permitting normal operation in the event one of the OTHER cables or stack interfaces fail.

Hi, I have to do the same exact thing, could you tell if it has worked without rebooting your stack?
