Please see attached scenario and sample configuration. I am new in the VRF. Any question about this scenario for your clarification please ask me.

Hi,

There are unclear aspects to this scenario.

  1. Why do you need to implement VRFs in this scenario? Why do you believe it is necessary? VRFs are used to create virtual routers (similarly to how VLANs are used to create virtual switches). The scenario does not provide any insight why the VRFs would be necessary, nor how many of them need to be created and what interfaces should be assigned to them.
  2. I do not understand the addressing plan, especially the "switch router facing IP" and "router switch facing IP" ranges. The switch in your scenario seems to be operating as a pure Layer2 switch with VLANs. For this, it does not need any IP addresses to operate. The entire switch requires at most one IP address, and even that IP address is only used for remote management. I believe that to simplify your setup, you should totally ignore the switch and its IP addresses.

Answering these questions will help us understand your scenario better. Thanks!

Best regards,
Peter

Thanks peter for this.

Answer to your first question - I have been asked to do so. I would welcome alternative solution.

Ans to your question-2. Let me give you more backgound. Consider only first 3 servers. I have five NICs on each server to seggregate traffic of: control, data, billing, ops, internet. Each of their default GW is .1 IP which will be set to vlan interface in SW. Another 5 vlan interface of .10 from respective subnet, this 5 vlan will be assigned to same port that connects router which will be trunk as well. I hve been asked to create vrf lite and create static routs giving .9 as next hop router ip for all subnet. By this way different traffic will go differently logically using one link. Now you please advise. Any more question welcome.
