The customer who we are working with wants cisco products to be manufactured in certain countries or has a list of countries where they do not want cisco to be manufactured. The products need not be TAA compliant but they can be CFIUS compliant which is a more relaxed rule than a TAA compliance
Below is more information to CFIUS compliance
What we need is CFIUS Compliance. Meaning equipment cannot be made in any of the CFIUS Restricted countries.
“CFIUS Restricted Country” means: Belarus; Burma; China; Cuba; Iran; North Korea;
Syria; Venezuela; Afghanistan; Cambodia; Central African Republic; Cyprus;
Democratic Republic of Congo; Ethiopia; Eritrea; Haiti; Iraq; Lebanon; Libya; Russia;
Somalia; South Sudan; Sudan; Zimbabwe; and any country not already identified that is
added after the Effective Date to the list of countries identified in 22 C.F.R 126.1(d).
We would like to know the procedure of how to get this correctly done when done via a distributor. Is it as simple as ordering the equipment and opening a case that we want the product not to be manufactured in China and they will sort accordingly or do we have to consider here something more?
Kindly advice
