How do I configure a switch stack 3850

Hi Team,

I have two 3850 switches that I want to do stack can someone please help on the process and command to select the master switch thank you. or how to select the priority.

Just Provision the second swtich 

-switch 2 provision ws-c3850-48p

Connect the stack cable , and will join in auto , once the second switch is in the stack set the priority with the highest level 

-switch 1 priority 15

-reload

Do I just connect my second switch to the one that is on now or do I need to turn it off?

I have one in production and need to add the second switch do I need to shutdown the one that is on Or I can do it when is on and connect the second.

No you don’t need to shutdown the switch 1 just connect the stack cable in
both switches and then turn on the second one, will initiate the second ,
usually is not needed to reboot but I do prefer to do it after integration
to the stack
Just be sure that both has the same iOS version

I agree, but I would do switch 1 priority 15 on master before adding other switches. that way I know sw 1 will be a master in stack
