how do I enable ip multicast-routing in packet tracer

I tried running the "ip multicast-routing" command in packet tracer router but it show "invalid input detected at '^' marker". Is multicasting disabled in packet tracer or something?

Hi

Your command is ok but Packet tracer has limitations that is the reason you received that error message. 

In real devices you can use the following command depending of the platform.

ip multicast-routing

ip multicast-routing distributed

But I saw some Cisco LAB manuals use that command. I thought that the LABs are suppose to be run on packet tracer?

I have tried with packet tracer version 7 and multicast is not supported.

Is there a version of packet tracer which supports multicasting? And is it an option to downgrade or upgrade to that version?
