Solved: How many DHCP limitation on Catalyst 3850 switch?

Hi,

I want to know limitation of DHCP on Catalyst 3850 switch.

- Can I made multiple pool, which total of about 12k+ users?

- How many real limitation?

My device are 2 of WS-C3850-32XS-S, stacking. Use as core switch.

I had find this in a lot of datasheet and didn't get information of it.

Hi!

There is no easy way to give you an exact number, however you have to be aware that every DHCP offer from your hosts is going to be CPU processes by your switch and if 12K hosts requests are send to the switch I will say that your it will definitely will have delays processing the requests and that could have an impact in your network performance.

I will definitely suggest using a server specialized in this task.
