How many trunk ports do I need to configure

Hi

One of my client have 3 switches (Cisco 3560 PoE Switches) configured for two vlans. Vlan1 (computers in the 10.9.168 network) and Vlan10 (phones in the 10.10.168 network). Most of the ports on the switch are trunked ports to carry traffic for both. Which is because the phones are connected to the outlets and computers to the phone's ethernet ports. My question is if I add in another switch there, how many trunked ports should I configure on the new switch  to carry traffic to the other switch/switches. Should I have 3 trunked ports on the new switch and have each go to the 3 switches or just one trunk ports from the new switch to any one of the other switch. Your help in this regard is highly appreciated. If needed I can send you the configurations.

Thanks,

Eapen Daniel

How are your 3 switches connected right now? Are they connected to each oter or all of them are going to a Distribution switch?

If all of them are going to a distribution switch, you can connect the new one to direcly to the distri switch.

If your 3 switches are inter-connected, you just need to uplink this new swich to any of the existing ones and configure the trunk port, so you need only one link.
